Common tape glue types and their characteristics
Common tape glue types and their characteristics
Tape is one of the main products of Shenzhen World Packing Industrial Limited, categorized into OPP packing tape, stationery tape, masking tape, safety tape, industrial tape, and double-sided tape, among others. Due to its wide variety and versatile applications, tape has become an indispensable tool in various industries.

Different types of tape use various substrates and adhesives, and the combination of these materials directly determines the tape's performance. Today, we'll focus on common adhesive types and their characteristics, exploring how they provide advantages and functionality in tape applications. This will help you better understand tape selection and usage.
WATER-BASED aDHESIVE
Features:
Using water as the main solvent, it is environmentally friendly and non-toxic.
After drying, it forms a transparent film with strong durability.
Moderate viscosity, not suitable for high humidity or low temperature environments.
Advantages:
Environmental protection: Does not contain organic solvents and is harmless to the environment and human body.
Wide scope of application: suitable for office tape, stationery tape and light packaging fields.
Some of our double-sided paper tape, masking tape, aluminum foil tape, biodegradable tape, and anti-slip tape use water-based adhesive.

HOT MELT ADHESIVE
Features:
It melts and becomes sticky when heated and solidifies quickly when cooled.
Strong viscosity, but poor high temperature resistance.
The surface is smooth and easy to process.
Advantages:
Rapid prototyping: suitable for high-speed production lines and high efficiency.
High viscosity: It can firmly adhere to various materials and is widely used in sealing tapes and industrial tapes.

OIL-BASED ADHESIVE
Features:
Based on organic solvents, it has strong viscosity and excellent water resistance.
Outstanding high temperature resistance and anti-aging properties.
The drying time is longer and the smell is heavier.
Advantages:
Strong durability: suitable for outdoor or high-intensity scenes.
Wide adaptability: often used in industrial tapes and high temperature resistant tapes.

REFLECTIVE TAPE
Mark hazardous areas
Alert pedestrians and vehicles

PET DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE
Excellent adhesion
Good heat resistance
RUBBER ADHESIVE
Features:
Based on natural rubber or synthetic rubber.
Strong stickiness and good flexibility.
Aging resistance is weak.
Advantages:
High initial tack: suitable for short-term bonding needs.
Low cost: widely used in ordinary packaging tapes.

PVC CAN SEALING TAPE
SILICONE ADHESIVE
Features:
Excellent high and low temperature resistance, can be used in extreme environments.
It has weak viscosity, but strong adhesion to special materials (such as silicone and PTFE).
Advantages:
Special properties: suitable for high temperature tapes and anti-static tapes.
High reliability: suitable for the electronics industry and high-demand application scenarios.

ACRYLIC ADHESIVE
Features:
Divided into water-based acrylic and solvent-based acrylic.
Excellent weather resistance, UV and high temperature resistance.
Durable stickiness, suitable for long-term bonding needs.
Advantages:
Weather resistance: Suitable for outdoor use, such as window film tape and decorative tape.
Durability: Stable performance in high and low temperature environments.

ACRYLIC TAPE
It offers excellent adhesion, high temperature resistance, strong weatherability, and long-lasting durability.

Light packaging and stationery: water-based adhesive, rubber adhesive.
Industrial and heavy packaging: hot melt adhesive, oil-based adhesive, chemical adhesive.
Special uses: acrylic adhesive (weather resistance), silicone adjhesive (high temperature), starch adhesive (environmental protection).
